  • OACI
OACI has asked TCI was asked to build an online digital library with the help of EXPLOR@-II’s sub system RM (Resource Manager). This first phase of the project will give, by march 2005, to the international institution a functional online library with documents tagged with the international standard IEEE-LOM.

  • EDUSOURCE
Canarie inc financed this large scale project involving seven Canadian universities and several industrial partners to built the first pan Canadian network of learning object repositories. TCI was a key player in the project by conceiving the architecture of the network, the protocol and by also building a turn key learning object repository the (e-RIB).

  • REUNA
A lightweight version of ADISA was created for the REUNA consortium with the help of TCI, CANAL Savoir, and Télé-université. REUNA : a group of seven Chilean universities also translated the MOT editor in Spanish and was given exclusive commercial rights for MOT and ADISA in south America. This partnership occurred during 2003 and 2004. TCI is currently negotiating further alliances with REUNA.

  • Hydro-Québec

  • SavoirNet
Canal Savoir has received an important subsidy from CANARIE for its SavoirNet project. This project aims, to endow the institutions of education of new means for course delivery on broadband Internet, coordinated with the television channel that Canal Savoir has been operating for the last 15 years. In this project, TCI was be responsible for building the SavoirNet Portal on the basis of its Explor@ system. The R&D part consists in developing an editor for 3D Web sites allowing to create immersive telelearning environments: virtual conferences, exhibitions, laboratories or museums. The project benefits from the support of RISQ, Vidéotron, Bell, StarChoice and LookTele, as well as from most of the universities of Quebec grouped in the Canal Savoir consortium, including University of Montreal, Télé-université ( TELUQ) and the Distance Training College (CCFD). This project came to a successful end on march 2002).

  • Explor@-II
In February, 2000, TCI began an important R&D contract aiming to widen the capacity of its Explor@ system in order to construct a complete general-purpose educational exploitation system for the Internet. Explor@’s new version was delivered in successive steps in March, 2001, in December, 2001 and in March, 2002. The project is cofinanced by RESCOL-CANARIE, BELL Canada and theTelelearning national centers of excellence (TL-NCE / RCE-TA).

  • CVAC
This project, started in February, 1999 by LICEF, in association with the CEFRIO and three professional orders allowed to create a continuing education virtual centre on the use of technologies for professional practice by chartered accountants, notaries and chartered administrators. An experimental version has been produced and was delivered and validated during the year 2000-2001. It is managed by the three professional orders with TCI’s support.

  • Améthys
ETI, a virtual school of information technologies grouping ETS, INRS, UQAM and TELUQ has asked TCI for two studies concerning the cohabitation of the Explor@ system with delivery platforms like WebCT or Learning Space. Also, TCI will develop for ETI a virtual environment program giving access to various courses in a master degree program of the institution.

  • ISED
Since May, 1998, TCI has benefited from two important R&D contracts allowing the development of a distributed system for learning system engineering (ADISA). This design support system is a world premiere. Through a web browser, a design team has access to a MOT knowledge model editor and to dynamic HTML forms corresponding to the 35 main tasks of the MISA 4.0 method. The XML infrastructure supports three types of data propagation, as well as on-line or off-line collaborative work of a design team. The beta version of the system is validated since autumn, 2000.
